Established in 2008 by Dr. Herbert A. Lederer (ISU ‘58) in memory of his father and mother. Awarded to a student with an interest in companion animal medicine and who has high moral character as demonstrated by leadership, responsibility, trustworthiness and caring attitude both inside and outside the classroom.

Here we have a unique opportunity to be an integral part of the bond between people and their pets. My career goal is to own a companion animal practice which fosters compassionate high-quality care.
