Established in 2017 by the family of Dr. Doyle W. Simonsen, Class of 1940, in memory of their father and to honor his career in the field of veterinary medicine. Awarded to a student pursuing their DVM degree, with a GPA of 2.50 or higher, an interest in production animal medicine, and who is a graduate of an Iowa high school.

My passion for veterinary medicine has grown tremendously since starting school. My background has mostly been production-based, but I feel that my opportunities for the future are nearly endless.
