This scholarship was established by Vivian Flores family and friends. The Vivian R. Flores Memorial Scholarship was created in remembrance of a beautiful person whose life was tragically taken too soon and to serve as inspiration and provide encouragement through the hardest of life’s journeys. Through Vivian’s memorial scholarship she is able to carry on her passion for veterinary medicine and her love for helping others by providing support to students just like her. Vivian was a driven, kind, and giving individual with a love for dancing, music, children, animals, and Iowa State University. She was a senior in the Department of Animal Science with plans to continue her education with the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine. This scholarship will be awarded in celebration of Vivian’s life and legacy of lifting others up on their paths to excellence.

My passion comes from growing up on the south side of Chicago and struggling to pursue vetmed due to lacking resources for interested students. That brought my interest to establishing programs to change that narrative.
